Welcome to Ramada - Gatesville, Texas with Home Town hospitality and friendly people to make your stay with us memorable and most enjoyable. Still small enough so that everyone knows their neighbors, Gatesville has now grown to offer all of the services and advantages of a modern city. Named for Fort Gates in 1854, Gatesville is at the North Entrance of today's Ft. Hood, the largest US Army Post. As the County Seat of Coryell County, deep in the Heart of Central Texas, Gatesville is conveniently located on the Leon River at the intersection of US Highway 84 and Texas Highway 36, which is right in front of the new Ramada hotel. The Ramada features Interior Corridor, Elevator secure access with both non-smoking and smoking rooms and suites. Each guest room offers a spacious floor plan with either one King or two Queen beds. A large work desk, comfortable sitting area, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, in-room safe, and both wired HSIA and WiFi are available free of charge. Color Cable TV features HBO, ESPN, TWC, educational and special interest stations and much more. Relax and refresh over a complimentary Continental Breakfast, served in our Great Room each morning from 6AM - 9:30AM. The Ramada is pet-friendly, has a small pet fee and asks that pets be on a leash or in a crate when unattended in the guest room. The hotel specializes in small meetings, with a board room accommodating 10 - 15 people and a Great Room for larger groups. Whether traveling for business or pleasure, be sure to save a few moments to visit the Buckhorn Museum, recalling history of cowboys and Indians, outlaws and ranchers. Faunt Le Roy Park on the Leon River has biking and hiking trails, perfectly suited for some fresh air and sunshine. The Coryell County Court House is one of the finest remaining Romanesque Renaissance Revival Architectural monuments in the US. Be sure to see the copper-domed Clock Tower and the Rotunda Skylight, a Texas Star pattern in art glass. The Mitchell Collection, the largest spur collection in the world, earned Gatesville the title of 'Spur Capital of Texas.' The unusual 1855 double-wall log jail has an underground dungeon and is open for tours on week days. Gatesville is the home of the last fully operational, full-time drive-in theaters in Texas, The Last Drive-in Picture show, which is just 5 minutes from the Ramada. It's a great way to revisit a classic part of America's history! We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you to the Ramada in Gatesville, Texas and hope to see you soon!
