Running for miles adjacent to the canal, the popular multi-use trail is as rich in historical and cultural history as it is in recreational and educational value. Wildlife and natural beauty are also abundant; plus it is the site of the annual 'Paddle for the Border' where 100s come out to participate. Dogs are allowed on the trail; they must be leashed and picked up after at all times.
