There are more than 20 original structures and numerous artifacts from the state's "City of Gold" including a hotel furnished as it was in the late 1800s. This site details what gold mining was like during that era; they have an interpretive self guided tour, seasonal costumed docents, and a Gold Mining Interpretive Center. Dogs are allowed on the grounds; they must be leashed and under their owner's control.
