This historic park pays tribute to the "Queen City of the Northern Mines"; a main shipping area for supplies and gold from the 1849 rush, and includes the old brick remains of the buildings. There are exhibits, interpretive programs, picnic areas, and an unparalleled collection of historic California artwork on display. Dogs of all sizes are allowed throughout the park, at the picnic areas, and on the trails; they are not allowed in the museum. Dogs must be well mannered, leashed, and cleaned up after at all times.
