Sutter Creek, named for John Sutter of Gold Rush fame, is a well preserved 1850's western town in California's Gold Country. There is a half mile long downtown along Highway 49 with staired sidewalks and a variety of shops including wine tasting, ice cream, and for your dog, a Three Dog Bakery. There are also other stores that may allow your dog inside if you ask and some cafes with outdoor seats.
