Children's Forest
Children's Forest Keller Peak Road Sky Forest, California
909-338-5156 Map
In 1993, San Bernardino National Forest set aside a 3,400-acre site within the forest to create the first Children's Forest in the United States. Forty children and teenagers from around the country were selected and brought to work with key Forest Service staff and other experts to design a trail and interpretive exhibits that teach young people about the Forest. Dogs are not allowed on the guided tour, but you and your pooch can take a self-guided tour on the 1/2 mile paved interpretive trail. Children's Forest is located off Highway 18 at Keller Peak Road, east of Running Springs in the San Bernardino Mountains.
