There are both easy and strenuous trails at this park. The Backbone Trail is a strenuous 3 mile round trip hike which starts at an elevatio of 2,050 feet. This trail offers views on the Conejo and San Fernando Valleys and the Pacific Coast. This trail continues to Point Mugu State Park but dogs are not allowed on those trails. The Grotto Trail is a 3.5 mile round trip trail rated moderate to strenuous. The trail is all downhill from the starting point which means you will be hiking uphill when you return. The Canyon View Trail is almost 2 miles and is rated easy to moderate. There are many access points to this trail, but one is located .3 miles east of the Ranger Station on Yerba Buena Road. Dogs are allowed but must be leashed and people need to clean up after their pets. To get there go about 5.4 miles north on Yerba Buena Road from Highway 1. This park is part of the Santa Monica Recreation Area.
