Located in the Los Padres National Forest, this campground is situated on an open bluff 100 feet above sea level and offers great views of the ocean and coastline. The beach is reached by hiking down from the campgrounds. The Kirk Creek trailhead is also located at the campground and leads to the Vicente Flat Trail which offers miles of hiking trails. Dogs are allowed in the campgrounds, on the hiking trails, and on the beach, but they must be leashed. Dogs must be cleaned up after. Be aware that there are large amounts of poison oak on the trails. RVs up to 30 feet are permitted. The campground is located about 25 miles south of Big Sur. There is no additional fee for pets, but dogs must have proof of rabies vaccinations and current shot records. Dogs may not be left unattended outside, and left inside an RV only if they will be quiet and comfortable. The camping and tent areas also allow dogs. There is a dog walk area at the campground. There are no electric or water hookups at the campgrounds.
