This trail is located in the Plumas National Forest and is a short one way .5 mile hike through the forest to impressive rock formations. The elevation ranges from 3100 feet to 3270 feet. Big Bald Rock provides great views of Oroville Lake and the Sacramento Valley. The trail is usually open for hiking from February to December, weather permitting. Dogs on leash or off-leash but under direct voice control are allowed. Please clean up after your pets. To get there from Oroville, take Highway 162 east. Drive for about 17-18 miles and turn right onto Bald Rock Road. Drive for about 5.8 on the gravel road. Then turn left at the Big Bald Rock turn-off and go .1 miles.
