This dog-friendly botanical garden is devoted to the display and study of the plants and ecosystems of the five Mediterranean-climate zones of the world: parts of California, Chile, Australia, South Africa and the countries surrounding the Mediterranean Sea. Dogs on leash are allowed. Please pick up after them. The garden is located on Highway 1 in El Chorro Regional Park, between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. The garden is open during daylight hours and admission is free. On the weekends, there is a dog fee for entering the regional park. There is also an off leash area for your dog to run, just up the street from the garden.
