Angeles National Forest
Little Tujunga Canyon Rd.
San Fernando,
California

Map

This forest is over 690,000 acres and covers one-fourth of the land in Los Angeles County. We have selected a couple of trails near San Fernando Valley ranging from 2.5 to 3 miles. Dogs are allowed on leash or leash free but under voice control. Both of the trails are single-track, foot trails. The first trail is called Gold Creek Trail. It is about 2.5 miles long. The second trail is called Oaks Springs Trail and it is about 3 miles long. To get there from Hwy 215, take the Foothill Blvd. exit and head north towards the mountains. Turn left onto Little Tujunga Canyon Rd. You will see the Little Tujunga Forest Station on the left. After you pass the station, continue on Little Tujunga Canyon Rd. Go about 1-1.5 miles and then turn right onto Gold Creek Rd. Go about 1 mile and on the right you will see the trailhead for Oak Springs Trail. If you continue to the end of Gold Creek Rd, you will see the trailhead for Gold Creek Trail. There should be parking along the road.
