This 4.8 mile two-lane paved trail is located in the Eldorado National Forest. Elevations range from 4,860 to 5,160 feet. The trail connects all the campgrounds on the east side of Union Valley Reservoir, from Jones Fork to Wench Creek Campgrounds. Parking is available at the campgrounds except for Lone Rock and Azalea Cove. Views and interpretive signs complement this high country trail. Dogs should be on leash and are allowed on the trail and in the water. To get there from Placerville, take Highway 50 east and go 21 miles to Riverton. Turn left on Ice House Road. Go about 19 miles north to the reservoir.
