This resort is located 30 minutes south of South Lake Tahoe. You can rent cross-country skis at the at the ski center which is located at the dog-friendly Sorensen's Resort. After renting the skis, you can either take your dog on some advanced uphill trails next to the rental center or drive about a mile down the road for some easier trails. The trails are located in the Toiyabe National Forest and are not groomed. The Burnside Lake Trail is a flat, 14 mile cross-country loop trail around the lake. A smaller loop, about 4-5 miles, can be found at the Sawmill Trail. The rental center will be able to provide directions and/or maps.
