This 33 mile drive offers spectacular views of redwoods and some very unique redwood trees, including some of the biggest trees in the world. You and your pooch might be able to drive your car through a redwood tree or two (depending on the size of your car). There is a fee to drive through some of the trees. The auto tour can be taken from the northbound or southbound direction. Allow about 1-2 hours, depending on stops and any traffic. From the north start at the Pepperwood/Jordan Creek exit off Highway 101 and from the south, start at the Phillipsville exit off Highway 101. The auto tour map can be picked up at either entrance. Dogs are not allowed on the trails in the state park, but they are allowed on fire roads and access roads in the Humboldt Redwoods State Park. One of the access points to the fire roads is at Albee Creek Campground.
