The Barbary Coast Trail is a 3.8-mile walk through historic San Francisco. Bronze medallions and arrows in the sidewalk mark the trail and guide you to 20 of the City's most important historic sites. It was created by the San Francisco Historical Society. Begin the self-guided walking tour at the Old U.S. Mint building on the corner of Mission and 5th Street. Along the trail you will find historic Union Square, the oldest Chinatown in North America, Plymouth Square, the Pony Express site and more.
