There are 10 campgrounds to choose from at this park, ranging from 196 feet below sea level to 8,200 feet above sea level. The Emigrant campground, located at 2,100 feet, offers tent camping only. This free campground offers 10 sites with water, tables and flush toilets. The Furnace Creek campground, located at 196 feet below sea level has 136 sites with water, tables, fireplaces, flush toilets and a dump station. Winter rates are $18 per night and less for the summertime. There are no hookups and some campgrounds do not allow generators. The Stovepipe Wells RV Campground is managed by the Stovepipe Wells Resort and offers 14 sites with full hookups but no tables or fireplaces. See our listing in Death Valley for more information about this RV park. About half of the campgrounds are open all year. Pets must be leashed and attended at all times. Please clean up after your pets. Dogs are not allowed on any trails in Death Valley National Park, but they can walk along roads. Pets are allowed up to a few hundred yards from the paved and dirt roads. The camping and tent areas also allow dogs. There is a dog walk area at the campground.
