Dogs on leash are allowed on most of the trails. You must respect state park rules and private property rules within California and Arizona. The trail features touring trail by car, bicycle, or foot depending on area. This trail commemorates the route followed by Juan Bautista de Anza, a Spanish commmander, in 1775-76 when he led a contingent of 30 soldiers and their families to the San Francisco Bay.
