With a seasonal outdoor pool, hot tub, tennis courts and playground, the Quality Inn Arcata, where pets are welcome for a fee, is more than just a place to sleep for our guests visiting the beautiful Redwood Coast of California. Free Wi-Fi, a cable TV with free movies and a coffeemaker are standard amenities in all 64 rooms, some non-smoking, of this two-story hotel. Some rooms include a microwave and mini-fridge too. Guests wake to a generous free breakfast buffet, with waffles and eggs in addition to various baked goods, yogurt, fruit and cereal. The coffee flows freely not just at breakfast but all day long in the lobby, where one can also pick up a free weekday paper. Though there are couches inside, warm weather lures guests outside, where — in addition to a seasonal pool and sundeck — they find tennis courts, a picnic area, a playground and a year-round hot tub. Parking is free. The hotel is off Highway 101, five minutes north of Humboldt State University and the shops, restaurants and galleries of downtown Arcata. Nature lovers are surrounded by attractions, including the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary, four miles away, and Mad River Beach County Park, five miles away on the Pacific Ocean. Eureka Old Town is 11 miles away. Arcata/Eureka Airport is five miles north. "Large, comfortable rooms," an "awesome breakfast" and a "welcoming staff" make our guests feel right at home at this "warm and friendly" Quality Inn.
