This forest has over 1,700,000 acres of land throughout Siskiyou County in California and Jackson County in Oregon. Dogs should be on leash. Hiking from East Fork Campground provides access to the lakes in the Caribou Basin, Rush Creek, and Little South Fork drainages. The campground is located 27 miles southwest of Callahan next to the East and the South Forks of the Salmon River, at a 2,600 foot elevation. From the Bridge Flat Campground, the historic Kelsey Trail offers excellent opportunities for scenic day hikes or longer trips into the Marble Mountain Wilderness. The campground is located on the Scott River approximately 17 miles from Fort Jones, at a 2,000 foot elevation. For more details, call or visit the Salmon River Ranger District, 11263 N.
