Kern River County Park

This park consists of over 1,000 acres and includes a river, a lake, campgrounds and picnic areas. Hills surround the lake, and the Greenhorn Mountains stretch along the eastern horizon. Please note that Kern River currents are very strong at times and can be extremely dangerous. Do not leave children or dogs unattended at the river. The park is located about10 miles northeast of Bakersfield, off the Alfred Harrell Highway on the Lake Ming Road exit. Dogs must be on leash.
