Setting along both sides of the Big Chico Creek Canyon, this spectacular 3,618 acre park offers numerous recreational, cultural, and educational opportunities. Bidwell Park has 2 basic sections; the Upper Bidwell Park and Lower Bidwell Park. Dogs can be off leash in Lower Bidwell Park from 5:30 am until 8:30 am only. Dogs may be off leash if under voice control at anytime along the north side of Upper Park Road. Dogs are not allowed at the swimming holes in Upper Lake or in the 1 Mile or 5 Mile swimming areas. Dogs must be leashed when in not in designated off leash areas.
