This resort is located 65 miles north of Redding, 10 miles east of Interstate 5, off Highway 89. The cross country ski center is about one mile before Mt. Shasta's downhill ski area. You can rent skis or snowshoes from the center and then enjoy about 9km of ungroomed snowshoe packed backcountry trails. The trails might be tough for cross country skiing but they are also popular for snowshoeing. It is recommended that dogs be leashed when crossing trails but can be off-leash under direct voice control when on the trails. On the weekends, these trails can have lots of dogs on them. The center is open daily from 9am to 4pm.
