Colusa National Wildlife Refuge H 20 at Ohair Road Colusa, California
95932 530-934-2801 Map
This 4,507 acre refuge consists mostly of seasonal wetlands, uplands, restored/maintained habitats for migratory birds and endangered species, and the preservation/maintenance of as much of the indigenous flora and fauna as possible. The area is popular for wildlife viewing, nature photography, hiking, and hunting. There is a 3 mile graveled auto tour that wanders through freshwater wetlands, a 1 mile Discovery Trail walk along dense riparian marshes, and it is home to more than 200,000 ducks and 50,000 geese every winter. Dogs are allowed and they may go just about anywhere their human companions can go. Dogs must be kept under control, leashed, and cleaned up after at all times.
