This canoe rental shop is located on the grounds of the dog-friendly Stanford Inn by the Sea. Feel free to walk into the shop with your pooch. If you are staying at the inn, it's a five minute walk to the shop. If you are staying at another hotel, there is ample parking. If your pup is over 50 pounds., he or she is more than welcome, but the folks at the shop will warn you that if your dog is a land-lover or decides to make a quick turn in the canoe, the whole party may become very wet. However, this dog-friendly rental shop has even modified a Mad River Winooski to create an incredibly stable canoe especially designed for dogs. Interior carpet, water bowl and a dog biscuit is included. The river you will be canoeing on is close to the ocean and it does contain alot of salt water, so make sure you bring separate water for you and your dog. Check with the shop for water conditions, but in general this is a calm river - no white water rafting here.
