Cross Country Skiing

Cross Country Skiing Mammoth Visitor Center Mammoth Lakes, California
Get Map or Directions
Want to cross country ski with your pup? Follow this plan: Rent some skis and boots at the Ski Renter (760-934-6560) located next to the Shell Gas Station on Hwy 203 (by Old Mammoth Rd). Walk or drive the skis a block or two over to the Mammoth Visitor Center / Inyo National Forest. There are several trails that start at the Visitor Center. From there I've been told you can join up to Shady Rest Park which offers more miles of cross country skiing trails (beginner trails - not too steep.) And of course, take your dog with you since this is a dog-friendly National Forest. Just listen carefully and watch out for any snowmobilers. Dogs should be leashed.
