This trail is located in the Plumas National Forest and is an easy but long 13.5 mile hike around the Little Grass Valley Reservoir. The trail is at a 5,100 foot elevation and is heavily used by hikers. In some areas the trail becomes a walk along the beach. Dogs on leash are allowed on the trail and in the water. The trail is usually open for hiking from early June to early September, weather permitting. Please clean up after your pets. To get there from Oroville, take Highway 162 east. Drive for about 7 miles and then turn right onto Forbestown Road (Challenge Cut-Off). Drive 16.6 miles and then turn left on La Porte Road. Go 27.4 miles and then make a right at Road #57 (South Fork Rec Area).
