One dog up to 70 pounds or dogs totaling up to 70 pounds are allowed for an additional cleaning fee of $100 plus $25 per night per room with a credit card on file. Dogs must be declared at the time of registration. Pets receive a special welcome with a pet amenity kit that includes a custom pet bed, food and water dishes with a floor mat, a doggy menu, Pet-in-Room sign, treats, pet tag, a toy, and more. The concierge can also offer additional services such as dog-walking and information about local dog services and parks. Dogs must be removed or crated for housekeeping or for any in-room services.

This pet-friendly Kimpton boutique hotel allows dogs of all sizes. There are no additional pet fees. In addition, the Hotel Monaco in Alexandria hosts a Doggy Happy Hour in the spring and summer. Dogs on leash are allowed at the outdoor tables in the courtyard. The happy hour is open to dogs of all sizes between April-October on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It runs from 5 pm - 8 pm. You don't have to stay at the hotel to visit the Happy Hour. The Doggy Happy Hour was begun at the Holiday Inn. Now it is a pet-friendly Hotel Monaco hotel where you can also stay with your dog while visiting Alexandria. They ask that dogs stay away from the bar area and keep their paws off the tables and chairs. Water and gourmet biscuits are served to your pets.

This dog beach with limited hours was approved and opened in 2008. The beach is located between Pershing Street and Custer Street along N. Broadwalk and one block from A1A. Dogs are allowed on the beach only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Please do not bring a dog to the beach on any other day. In addition during the Summer dogs are allowed on the beach only from 5 pm to 9 pm and in the Winter months they are allowed from 3 pm to 7 pm. Summer months begin when Daylight Savings time begins in March and end when Eastern Standard time is resumed in the fall. The permission to use the beach will be reviewed every six months or so so it is very important that all dog owners clean up and follow the hours and other rules of the beach.
