There is a $25 per day per pet fee. Well-behaved pets are welcome. Just make sure you mention you will be bringing a pet as they have specific "pet-friendly" rooms. Pets may not be left alone in the rooms unless they are trained to stay in a crate. This inn is located within walking distance to grocery and boutique shopping, restaurants, cross country skiing, snowshoe area and Mammoth's biking and running path. Amenities include in room high speed Internet access, limited in room dining, indoor dry sauna, hot tub, and a game, movie and book library.

This fine art gallery offers 2,000 square feet of contemporary paintings, sculptures and photographs of dogs and other animals. North American artists are featured. Well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome at the art gallery. There are a couple of dogs on the premises but they are usually put in the office when there are dog visitors.

This state beach allows leashed dogs. The beach is located in the small town of Cayucos. To get to the beach from Hwy 1, exit Cayucos Drive and head west. There is a parking lot and parking along the street.

This one acre off leash dog park is fenced and includes water and benches. The park is open during daylight hours. To get there, take Highway 1 and exit at Rio Del Mar. Go left over the freeway and turn right onto Monroe Avenue (second stop light). After Monroe turns into Wallace Avenue, look for Huntington Drive on the left. Turn left on Huntington and the park entrance will be on the left.

Scotts Valley

This off leash dog park is located in the Skypark complex next to the soccer fields. The dog park offers 1.2 fully enclosed acres which is divided into two sections. One section is for small dogs under 25 pounds, puppies or shy dogs. The other section is for all dogs but primarily for larger and more active dogs. Other amenities include water bowls, wading pools, tennis balls, other dog toys, drinking fountains, shaded seating, plastic bags and pooper scoopers. To get there from Highway 17, take the Mt. Hermon exit and follow Mt. Hermon Road straight. Pass two stoplights and take the second right into the shopping center at the movie theatre sign. Go about .1 miles and turn left on Bluebonnet Road. The dog park is on the left.

This 12 acre park offers a dog park for off-leash romping. The area is fully fenced with multi-station watering fountains and shade structures. Paws in the Park, an annual dog festival, is held at this park. The park is located on Saguaro Blvd., between Tower Drive and Desert Vista. To get there, head east on Shea Blvd. Turn left onto Saguaro Blvd. Go 1.5 miles and turn right onto Desert Vista. Turn left immediately onto Saguaro Blvd. Go about .2 miles and then turn right onto Tower Drive. The park is on the right. Thanks to ADOG (Association of Dog Owners Group) for the directions. The hours are from sunrise to sunset.

This dog-friendly restaurant offers eclectic food where canjun meets southwestern flavors. Menu items include starters like Coconut Shrimp and Black Bean Quesadillas, and salads like the Southwest Chicken Salad and the Mediterranean Calamari Salad. Entrees and meals include sandwiches, pizza and pasta. The restaurant has a 5,000 square foot temperature controlled patio with six air conditioning units, misters and heaters. Well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables. They serve water to pooches. Sugar Daddy's also offers a Sunday brunch from 10am until 4pm where your leashed pooch is also welcome. They have lots of food and a "Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar." From 1pm until 6pm there is live music on the patio. There is also a complimentary coffee station and all of the tips go to the Association of Dog Owners Group (ADOG). This non-profit organization is dedicated to promoting the Fountain Hills off-leash dog park and responsible pet ownership. This restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.

This lodge offers hacienda-style rooms and many have tile covered patios and fireplaces. Amenities include garden pathways, a pool and a restaurant with an outdoor patio where your pooch can join you. Room rates range from $79 to $269 depending on the season or type of room. Rates are subject to change. Pets are welcome for an additional $15 per day pet fee and a $50 refundable pet deposit. Well-behaved dogs of all sizes are welcome. All 35 rooms and suites are non-smoking and dogs are allowed in any of the rooms.

This restaurant offers a variety of food like salads, soups, burgers, sandwiches, pastas, chicken and meat entrees and omelettes. Well-behaved leashed dogs are allowed at the outdoor tables. Thanks to one of our readers for recommending this restaurant. The restaurant is located on Walker Road, two blocks west of 158th Street.

This dog-friendly restaurant welcomes dogs at their outdoor tables with a bowl of cool water. They even have a special doggie menu with cookie treats and Warm Patio Pooch Platters like the Mutt Mix (two grilled turkey hotdogs sliced and tossed with assorted biscuits). They have basic Patio Puppy Rules like do not tie your dog to the chairs or tables, all dogs need to be kept under control and do not let your dog disturb other guests. The restaurant's people food includes authentic german dishes including chicken, beef and vegetarian entrees. The in-house bakery offers sponge cake tortes and strudels. This restaurant also offers a wide variety of wines. They are open Wednesday through Sunday.
