This park was once a significant military site during the Civil War and an encampment for Union and Confederate troops; it now offers peaceful picnicking and easy trails. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the hiking trails, pavilions, paved park roads, parking lots and multi-use trails. They must be kept on a 6-foot leash at all times, cleaned up after, and they can not be left unattended for more than 30 minutes.
