Dogs on leash are allowed in the state park. They are not allowed in the campground area or beach. The park features canoeing, picnicking, hiking, swimming, fishing, and more. The park also has history of American Indians, Civilian Conservation Corps in 1933-1941, summer camp for children of displaced Japanese Americans in 1943, POW camp for German prisoners in 1944, and temporary housing for the Kalmychs of Eastern Europe in 1952.
