Surrounded by forests, this relaxed mountainside resort is 7 miles from the iconic Mount Rushmore National Memorial sculpture of 4 former presidents, and 3 miles from Highway 16/Highway 385. Accommodations range from casual rooms with flat-screen TVs, minifridges and microwaves, to rustic 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom cabins with stone fireplaces, kitchenettes and porches; some offer living and dining areas. A 4-bedroom lodge adds a hot tub. Comfortable amenities include 4 restaurants, a cafe and a pub, plus 2 outdoor pools, 3 hot tubs and a splash pad. There's also a playground, a fishing pond and a climbing wall. Horseback riding and loaner bikes are offered. Up to three pets are allowed. There are no size restrictions. There is $10 Per Pet Per Night pet fee. Pets are allowed in select cabins only, so please call ahead for availability.
