Unlike almost all larger California cities, Santa Barbara does not have any fenced off-leash dog parks nor any off-leash unfenced dog runs that are available throughout the day. However, they do have five unfenced park areas with very limited off-leash hours. Please check the signs to find the off-leash areas and the hours as they may change. The five parks are Toro Canyon Park Meadow, daily (8 am to 10 am, 4 pm - sunset), Patterson Open Space, M - F (8 am to 10 am), Tucker's Grove, M - F (8 am - 10 am, 4 pm - sunset), Tabano Hollow, daily (4 pm to sunset) and Isla Vista Park, M - F (8 am - 10 am, 4 pm - sunset). Please keep in mind that in winter there is not much time between 4 pm and sunset.
