Utica Park was built in 1954 on the site of the Utica Mine after the ground had been leveled and shafts filled to the 60 foot level. Today it is a great park for having a picnic or watching the kids have fun in the large playground area. The historic Lightner Mine at this park operated from 1896-1915. It produced over $6 million dollars in ore. The mine was filled, but you will still see some of the equipment that was used above ground.
