Located in Midtown is the popular Piedmont Park, which consists of 185 acres. The park offers many paths for walking or running. Dogs must be leashed, except for the designated off-leash area located north of the Park Drive bridge. Dog owners are required to clean up after their dogs. Dogs are not allowed in the lake, in the botanical gardens, on the tennis courts, ball fields or playgrounds. Of special interest to dog lovers, is the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's Annual Bark in the Park event. The event usually takes place in August and is held in Piedmont Park. To get to the park, take I-85/75 north and take exit 101 (10th Street). Go straight to the first light, then turn right on 10th Street. Turn left at Piedmont and the park entrance will be on the right.
